Rico Salmela Is a Young Talent in International Road Racing.
Rico fell in love with the sport at just 5 years old, and after getting his own bike, he spent the year participating in free practice sessions for all races. At just 6 years old in 2014, he became the first Finnish rider to receive a special license, allowing him to compete for the first time. Except for his first race, Rico won all his competitions, becoming the youngest motorcycle champion in Finnish history. We were involved when Rico, at just 11, raced in the Moto4 series for the Spanish HMA team, making him the first Finnish rider to do so.
